Community Guidelines

This is where we do the practice together. A few agreements keep it a good place to be. Takes 3 minutes to read.

What the chat is for

  • Practice together. "Who wants to do breathwork together at 9am MT?" "Rage Jam at my place Wednesday, any Denver moms?"
  • Pick a tool. "Which Reset Button skill would you use when bedtime's gone off the rails and you're at an 8?"
  • Answer the weekly question. Jump in on the Conversation Cards. Short answers count.
  • Share wins. Any size. "Did the Cold Reset in the car instead of yelling at pickup."
  • Journal together. Share your answer to the prompt, as much or as little as you like.

Venting is welcome too. The chat just works best as the place we get out of our heads and back into our bodies.

Our agreements

  1. No judgment. Not of yourself, not of anyone else. Every mom here is parenting under different conditions.
  2. Share experience, not advice. "What helped me was…" instead of "You should…"
  3. What's said here stays here. We request that you do not take screenshots, and you do not share someone else's story. Our goal is to create a comfortable environment for sharing difficult conversations; however since this is a public forum, we can’t guarantee that anything shared will remain confidential.
  4. Assume good intent. Text flattens tone. Ask before you react.
  5. No kids' faces. Share the chaos, not the children.
  6. Moms' issues, yes. Culture wars, no. Paid leave and childcare, all day. Partisan or religious debates, no.

Share with care: this is not therapy or medical advice

The site administrators and moms reading are not your therapists or medical professionals, and many are carrying their own hard things. So:

  • Keep hard stories short, and skip the graphic details. Say what happened in a sentence or two, then what you need.
  • Add a content note before heavy topics: "CN: pregnancy loss" (or birth trauma, NICU, grief, scary thoughts).
  • Say what you need. "Just venting" or "Has anyone been through this?"
  • Vent, then move. Name it, then try a Reset skill or a Rage Jam. Rehashing the same hard thing in a group tends to make everyone feel worse.
  • Don't play therapist. No diagnosing. "That sounds so hard. Have you told your provider?" is plenty.

Your story isn't too much. This chat just can't hold all of it safely. A therapist, your provider, or the PSI HelpLine can.

Instead of…Try…
A detailed, start-to-finish birth trauma story"CN: birth trauma. Her birthday's next week and I'm dreading it. Anyone else get anniversary feelings?"
"That sounds like PPD, you should get on meds.""That sounds so heavy. Have you been able to talk to your provider?"
"I could never let my kid have that much screen time.""Survival mode is a real season. You're doing it."
Posting the same painful situation every dayA one-line update, then "Going to try the Cold Reset."

Copyright Infringement and DMCA Policy

1. Respect for Intellectual Property. MFT respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. Users may not post, upload, or share content in chats, profiles, or file attachments that infringe any copyright. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (“DMCA”), we will respond to valid notices of alleged infringement.

2. Filing a Notice of Infringement. If you believe content in any MFT online forum or chat infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Copyright Agent (see Section 7) that includes:

(a) A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
(b) Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
(c) Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (for example, the channel or room name, username, date and time of the message, or a link);
(d) Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
(e) A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
(f) A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Notices that do not substantially comply with these requirements may not be acted upon.

3. Our Response. Upon receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the identified material and will make a reasonable effort to notify the user who posted it. We may share a copy of the notice, including the complaining party’s contact information, with that user.

4. Counter-Notification. If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our Designated Copyright Agent that includes:

(a) Your physical or electronic signature;
(b) Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal;
(c) A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
(d) Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district where MFT, LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.

5. Repeat Infringers. We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

6. Misrepresentations. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Please consider whether the use may be a fair use before submitting a notice.
