Changing the culture of modern motherhood through the power of dance, community and collective joy
As seen in People, TODAY, the boston globe and more!
MFT delivers joy-forward wellness for moms.
Motherhood is the biggest honor, and it’s also really hard! It asks everything of us: physically, emotionally, and mentally. And yet, most wellness spaces weren’t built with moms in mind. That’s where we come in.
Moms Feelin’ Themselves (MFT) was created by two moms, one a mental health clinician, who understand both the science and the lived experience of motherhood. Our approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and rooted in joy. We use proven tools - movement, music, and community - to help moms regulate their nervous systems, boost mental health, and reconnect with themselves.
We create experiences that are as joyful as they are restorative, because moms don’t just need support—they deserve a good time while getting it. Research shows that dance, movement, and connection improve mood, reduce stress, and help moms feel more like themselves—and that’s exactly what we do.
Through our high-energy The Mom Dance Party™, we help moms reconnect to their bodies, their joy, and their sense of self.
what we know:
There is nothing more important as a society than supporting moms. Satisfied moms, those who lead full, balanced lives, create stronger families and healthier communities.
There is too much pressure for moms to love every single moment. Yes, you can love your children and still need a break! That is real, healthy, and completely valid.
The village and community many of us yearn for and desperately need simply does not materialize when one becomes a mother.
Finding meaningful connection as a mother can be difficult, but it is essential.
Movement and dance are powerful ways to release stress, regulate the nervous system, reconnect with yourself, and feel connected to others. Science says so.
The fantasy that mothers are supposed to become selfless angels, who do not need pleasure, fun, or play, is hurting moms, families and communities.
All humans need joy, and it’s normal, no- necessary! to seek it outside of the caregiving role.
so we created
the mom dance party™.
