The mom dance party.
Women have come together to dance since the dawn of civilization as a way to celebrate, pray, and cultivate wellness and community.
We intend to honor this ancient ritual, the MFT way:
Early’s 2000s bangers blare in a dark room. You know every word and scream along happily, or you don’t and you pretend. You’re sweaty and content. You’re integrating the fierce woman inside with the nurturing mom inside.
You’re alive, uninhibited and having fun.
You’re an MFT.
Dance is the expression of emotion in movement, which also makes it a communal thing: arguably one of the most socially powerful and communicative activities there is.
Dr. Peter Lovatt, Dance Psychologist
Dance has the power to transform how we feel, and how we feel about ourselves.
The research is clear. Dance has been proven to:
Reduce feelings of depression, anxiety, hostility, anger, confusion, fatigue and tension;
Positively impact mood in people with both severe and mild depression;
Increase self-esteem, body image and overall sense of well-being.
